CARE
cleaning
Clean the cutting board after each use with warm water and a mild detergent. Avoid using aggressive cleaning agents to avoid damaging the wood. Then dry the board with a clean cloth to avoid water stains.
Avoid prolonged moisture
Never clean your cutting block in the dishwasher. Long-term exposure to moisture can cause the wood to swell, warp and crack. Make sure the board is always dry after cleaning.
Regular oiling
To preserve the natural beauty of the wood, the cutting board should be regularly treated with high-quality linseed oil depending on use. Apply the oil evenly to the surface and allow it to soak in. Then wipe the board with a soft cloth to remove excess oil.
treatment of wear and tear
With regular use, the wood may show minor scratches or signs of wear. These can easily be treated with fine sandpaper (e.g. 220 grit). After sanding, you should treat the board again with linseed oil to seal the surface and care for the wood.
storage
Store the cutting board in a dry, well-ventilated place to avoid unwanted effects. Do not place the board in direct sunlight or on a very hot surface to prevent cracking due to drying out too quickly.
protection against strong impacts
Protect the cutting block from strong impacts and extreme temperature changes that could damage the wood. Use the board on a stable surface and avoid dropping sharp, heavy objects directly onto the board.
